Jeff Dunham

Jeff Dunham

America's favourite comic, according to Slate, is making a rare intimate appearance in Niagara Falls at the Fallsview Casino on May 19th & May 20th, 2016. He will be brining his cast of characters for a fun filled show.

Jeff Dunham's Rise to Fame

When he was 8 years old in 1970, Jeff Dunham found his beginnings as a ventriloquist. This all began on Christmas when his parents gave him a Mortimer Snerd dummy as a present. They also gave him a how-to album. He was so thrilled about this gift that the next day, he went to the library to get a how-to book from the library on ventriloquism. He admitted that he never return the book and still has it in his possession today.

When Jeff Dunham was a teenager, he began performing for audiences in a variety of different venues including his local Six Flags, church, and at school. He would first appear on television in 1976 when he was interviewed by a Dallas news station for his talents. Jeff Dunham would continue to appear on television through commercials. He was voted Most Likely to Succeed by his high school when he graduated in 1980.

Self Funded Success

His real big break was an appearance on “The Best Damn Show Period”. This would lead to him getting his first Comedy Central specials, which helped further his exposure. He decided to take a gamble and finance his own comedy DVD titled “Jeff Dunham: Arguing With Myself”. His career reached an all-time high in 2008, which led to more Comedy Central Specials and his performing in front of packed arenas with tens of thousands in attendance. He then had a television show on Comedy Central that began in 2010 and lasted for one season called “The Jeff Dunham Show”. He is still having a hugely successful career with many different comedy specials and selling out shows all over the place. Jeff Dunham is just as recognizable as his dummies are. He has become a master of this art and it shows in his popularity. He is currently doing shows at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada doing his “Not Playing With a Full Deck” shows.
