Chris Young

Chris Young

As the winner of the 2006 TV country music talent competition Nashville Star, Chris Young got a major boost easy in his career – although many may argue that it was just a matter of time until his star shone through needed it. A multi-talented singer, songwriter and guitarist, Young capitalised on the publicity immediately, releasing his self-titled album that year.

His vocal talent style of music, a neo-traditional take that stands in contrast to the pop/country and rock/country hybrids that have dominated the genre in the 21st century, got great reviews right from the beginning, but his star rose in earnest with his second album in 2009, The Man I Want to Be, which dominated the Billboard Country Songs chart for that year.

Chris Young: Coming Over

Since 2009 Young has been a constant presence in the upper tiers of country music, and every album from that point on has garnered him a series of number one hits. The quintessential country music frontman, Young is now up to five studio album releases, with an additional Christmas album only just released as a collaborative work with some of the best songwriters in the business and guest collaborations with other country music stars such as Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley.

With every album and tour Young has only grown more popular and more refined as a musician and songwriter, and recognised in his accolades from the American Country Awards and CMT Music Awards. He’s open to his fans, works hard, is a captivating performer and is known for his philanthropy. There’s little not to like about the guy.
