About Andy Kim
Andy Kim, born Andrew Youakim, is a Canadian pop rock singer-songwriter, known for penning a number of hit songs released in the mid-1960s to early 1970s. In recent times, Kim has returned to recording and performing music, having had released an album and toured in 2015 so far.
Andy Kim is best known for his singing and songwriting work during the mid and late 1960s. In 1968, he released his first successful single, 'How'd We Ever Get This Way,' which peaked at number 21 on the U.S. Top 20.
He also, in collaboration with Jeff Barry, co-wrote the classic single, 'Sugar, Sugar.' The single, performed as the animated band 'The Archies,' peaked at number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was also named RIAA Record of the Year. To this day, the song is used in various forms of media, notably movies and television.
During the following year, Kim recorded more minor hit singles and toured North America. His single 'Baby, I Love You' sold over one million copies and was eventually certified gold by the RIAA in late October 1969.
After taking a semi-hiatus from music until the mid-1990s, Kim returned to recording and performing music. By 2010, he released his first album in over two decades, 2010's Happen Again. In 2015, he released another full length album, It's Decided.
