A great place to spend time with friends and family this holiday season is at one of Niagara’s many amazing Santa Claus parades, happening throughout November and December in a number of cities and towns throughout the region.
Head to downtown Niagara Falls on Saturday November 18th for the city’s annual Santa Claus Parade. giving away free hot chocolate at Rosberg Family Park, there will be free face painting, balloons and caricatures near City Hall, Canada Post will be collecting letters to Santa along the parade route, and Tim Hortons will be giving away free coffee, hot chocolate, and lattes at the corner of Valley Way and Queen StrThe parade starts at 11am on Victoria Avenue at Armoury Street and heads north along Victoria Avenue to Queen Street and City Hall. This year’s parade will feature twelve amazing marching bands, stilt walkers, inflatable gingerbread men, snowmen and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, a special Mrs. Claus float, and of course, Santa Claus. And during the parade The Salvation Army will be eet.
This year’s St. Catharines Santa Claus Parade is being held on Sunday November 19th at 1pm, beginning on McGuire Street behind the Meridian Centre and travelling onto St. Paul Street and Queen Street. After the parade there will be a party and free skate at the Meridian Centre from 2-4pm featuring visits with Santa Claus, kids crafts, face painting, outdoor pony rides, and skating.
Enjoy some family fun in Welland on Saturday November 18th at 4pm at the city’s annual Santa Claus Parade. Beginning at Canadian Tire Financial Services and travelling west on East Main Street, the parade will end at Civic Square where families can enjoy the lighting of Welland’s beautiful Christmas tree, visits with Santa Claus, free hot chocolate and treats, and a showing of Merry Madagascar on the big screen in Civic Square.
The town of Fort Erie is hosting a Santa Claus Parade on Saturday November 18th at 4pm beginning on Jarvis Street and Niagara Boulevard and ending on Catherine Street. And make sure not to miss the exciting pre-parade entertainment on Jarvis Street before the holiday festivities begin.
Niagara on the Lake
The historic town of Niagara on the Lake is hosting their annual Christmas Parade on Saturday December 9th at 11am, featuring beautiful holiday floats and marching bands travelling down Wellington, Byron, Prideaux and Queen streets, ending in the heart of the town’s charming downtown district.
