2017 Days of Wine & Chocolate

If you enjoy wine and love chocolate, head to the Days of Wine and Chocolate event in Niagara-on-the-Lake this February. An annual celebration of wine produced in Niagara’s wine country, the event is spread across the four weekends of the month.

2017 Days of Wine & Chocolate Event Dates:

  • February weekends – 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26

More than 20 wineries are participating in the event and you can head there on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays throughout the month. The picturesque wineries are famous for their brand of unique VQA wines and these will be paired with delectable dishes prepared using various chocolate combinations.

Inniskillin Wines

With their award-winning wines and availability in more than 74 countries, Inniskillin Winery is the world leader in icewines. They are also known for their wide range of table wines and their wines have won several international and national awards.

With your touring pass, you can indulge with a 2013 Reserve Merlot along with Montreal smoked meat sandwich, cocoa aioli

Konzelmann Estate Winery

The Konzelmann family migrated to Canada from Germany in 1984 and set up the winery afterwards. They have a huge range of different types of white, red, sparkling and dessert wines.

Enjoy a French cocoa macaron filled with Valrhona chocolate and caramel ganache prepared by Casa Mia Ristorante at the winery with your touring pass. It is paired with a 2013 Pinot Noir Reserve.

Strewn Winery

While the winery is famous for its red wines and white wines, it is also well-known as it produced the first barrel-fermented Riesling Icewine in the Niagara region.

A triple chocolate delight awaits you at the winery: pulled pork with cocoa on a tortilla chip, roast rhubarb with white chocolate shavings and Thai peanut butter ball in dark chocolate. Enjoy this treat along with a 2011 Cabernet Franc Icewine.

Trius Winery

The winery has been producing wine for over 30 years. It is well-known for its range of wines, in fact the first icewine in Niagara-on-the-Lake was produced for Trius in 1983.

With your touring pass, you can savour a 2014 Trius Gamay Noir along with s'mores chocolate fudge.

Days of Wine & Chocolate Wine Tour
