2017 Niagara Icewine Festival Discovery Pass

There’s good news for wine lovers! The Niagara Icewine Festival 2017 will take place during three weekends this January. It’s a great opportunity to taste Niagara’s bounty of wonderful wines. You can also explore Niagara’s wine country especially the picturesque wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Celebrate the winter icewine harvest during the weekends of January 13-15, 20-22 & 27-29, 2017.

The festival kicks off on January 13 at the Fallsview Casino Resort with the Xerox Icewine Gala: Sugar & Spice….Everything Ice event. And the festival finishes with the largest event of the weekend, the Niagara Icewine Festival at the Scotiabank Convention Centre, Jan 27 - 29th. This event features live music, numerous Icewine vendors with tastings and delectable locally sourced food, perfectly paired with the sweet taste of Icewine.

Niagara Icewine Festival Discovery Pass

Visitors to Niagara can also opt for the festival’s Discovery Pass Program which offers eight food and wine experiences during the three weekends. For $40, you can head to the participating wineries with the pass and enjoy the wine and food combinations. Here are some of the wineries where you can use your discovery pass during the Icewine Festival in Niagara.

Peller Estates Winery

This delightful winery is the perfect place to sip on wines while taking in the beauty of the surroundings. With a history that dates back to 1969, the winery has a range of Vidal, Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Oak Aged wines. Their icewines are famous and have won several awards.

With the discovery pass, you can enjoy chef Jason Parsons’ delicious Icewine Marshmallows. You can roast a Cabernet Franc Icewine Marshmallow on an open fire while sipping on a glass of Cabernet Franc Icewine at the winery.

Strewn Winery

Another winery with a great range of wines, Strewn Winery produced the first barrel-fermented Riesling Icewine in the Niagara region.

A yummy wine and culinary combination awaits guests at the winery during the icewine festival. Use your pass to taste the winery’s 2011 Cabernet Franc Icewine. It is teamed up with the sinful dark Chocolate Ganache tartlet with a hint of raspberry-balsamic made by the pastry chef at OLIV Restaurant.

Konzelmann Estate Winery

Started by a German family who migrated to Canada in 1984, the winery has a range of over 30 different types of wines.

With your discovery pass, you can enjoy the winery’s award winning Vidal Icewine. You can also savour a culinary treat with a Tide & Vine prepared Lobster Bisque that has a dash of spice.

Jackson-Triggs Winery

The winery has an incredible range of award-winning wines produced at its advanced state-of-the-art wine making facility. With an area of over 11.5 acres, the winery is known for its high quality VQA wines.

You can enjoy a Greek culinary adventure at the winery with your discovery pass. It consists of a Pork Souvlaki with preserved cherries, and a pairing of the winery’s Reserve Cabernet Franc Icewine.
