Coming Soon: Niagara Falls Zip Line

Niagara Falls has several stunning landscapes and spectacular views, and the city offers a variety of activities to truly enjoy the beauty all around. An upcoming attraction will offer a new perspective of the area–the city will soon have its very own zip-line adventure activity.

Zip Line: Rise in Popularity

Zip-lining has become an increasingly popular activity at several destinations around the world. A zip-line consists of a cable mounted between two points of different heights. The rider holds on to a pulley or harness attached to the cable and transports himself from one point to the other with the help of gravity. The sliding motion between two points while suspended high above proves highly enjoyable for the rider and the added bonus are the spectacular views. The complexity levels of zip-lines range from easy to challenging depending on the height and length of the cables.

Zip Lining Coming to Niagara Falls

Preparations are currently underway for the zip-lining and aerial adventure course in Niagara Falls and this new attraction is expected to open in 2016. An agreement is expected to be finalised between The Niagara Parks Commission and Niagara Adventure Excursions Inc. for the zip-lining activity. Grand View Marketplace and Thompson Point along the Niagara Parkway are the locations with the former being readied as the zip-lining hotspot and the latter being developed for the aerial adventure course. There are several ways to view and experience Niagara Falls and this will offer people an incredible new way to see the falls, the gorge and the surrounding area.

Niagara Falls Zip Line Construction

WildPlay Element Parks will undertake the construction of this activity in association with Niagara Adventure Excursions. In the past, WildPlay has been the force behind the creation of five aerial adventure parks and zip-lines in western Canada. Together they plan to create a high-quality zip-lining attraction without impacting the environment and keeping in mind the eco-sensitivity of the falls. It will be a great way for people to discover nature and a boost for eco-tourism as well. Four high-speed cable lines will be mounted alongside each other and will travel a distance of 670 metres between the Grand View Marketplace and the Niagara Gorge. The aerial adventure course will have activities for both children and adults with Kids, Classic and Extreme courses. The attractions here include zip-lines, rope swings, scrambling walls, spinning logs, tightropes, monkey bars and several other fun activities that will offer thrilling new ways to explore nature.

So come 2016, visitors can experience Niagara Falls in a whole new way. Zip along and enjoy the ride!
