Niagara Falls Art Gallery
8058 Oakwood Dr, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6S5
The Niagara Falls Art Gallery is a public space with regular rotating galleries and a focus on encouraging children to take up art. A great place to take your kids for a class and some socialising, but it’s also the best place to see some of the local and historically significant works of early Canadian artists like William Kurelek and John Burtniak.
Krieghoff Gallery Café
5470 Victoria Av, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3L2
Anyone still on the hunt for art from bygone Canadian artists may also want to check out the Krieghoff Gallery Café, in the heart of Niagara Falls near the Rainbow Bridge. Cornelius Krieghoff (1815-1872) specialised in artwork that captures the lifestyle of early Canadian settlers. His work is on permanent display here and comes with baked goods and local wines.
Rodman Hall Arts Centre
Brock University, 109 St Paul Crescent, St Catharines, ON L2S 1M3
The Rodman Hall Arts Centre, now part of the Brock Univerity campus in St Catharines, is an active participant in the support of modern contemporary art. It operates out of a historical house and gardens that has regular visual arts expeditions from campus students and local artists.
Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre
247 Ricardo St, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0
Another art gallery operating out of a historic building is the Pumphouse Arts Centre on the northern banks of the Niagara River. The exhibitions here tend to have a naturalistic slant, celebrating the wine country and the natural beauty of the region.
These are just a few of the artistic endevaours that you can undertake amidst taking in natural wonders such as Niagara Falls, culinary delights from area restarurants and creature comforts at area wineries.
