It’s easy to find top-class entertainment in Niagara, between the various night clubs, casinos, and the Falls themselves. And then there are the theatre and concert venues. Being a major tourist hub, Niagara has always attracted big names and international talent to book out its various venues.
No matter what side of the border you’re on, there’s an act in town right for every musical taste.
Niagara Falls Casino Entertainment
Typically, the biggest acts can be found at Fallsview Casino and Seneca Niagara Casinos.
Fallsview Casino has the 1500-seat Avalon Ballroom Theatre for major international acts; its specialty is in grabbing the vintage rock and soul performers like Boz Scaggs, Steppenwolf and the disco group Earth, Wind, and Fire. Rock music showcases, dance performances, and Cirque-style shows are also regular features.
On the other side of the border, Seneca Casino (located on the American side of the border) has a wide variety on offer. Aside from being a major venue for martial arts & boxing matches, the casino maintains a 2400-seat events centre for international performers like Stevie Nicks and Kathy Griffin and the more intimate Bear’s Den Theatre for musical acts.
The entertainment line-up is always changing. Casino Niagara also maintains a Free Live Music program every weekend to host local acts and bands.
Lesser Known Venues
There are other venue options outside the main theatres as well. One major hotspot is the Rapids Theatre in New York, an indoor concert venue with a 1700 seat capacity. It’s a major magnet for the best international acts, having hosted big names like Snoop Dogg and Thirty Seconds to Mars.
And when you’re staying at the Marriott on the Falls, head down to Queen Victoria Park along the waterfront and you’ll be able to watch great local acts performing for free! The Coca-Cola Concert Series hosts free live concerts, mostly local rock bands, for everyone to enjoy – with a fireworks display often lighting up the night to make the perfect backdrop.
