Celebrate the holiday season with festivities, food, and fun! Can wine tasting be far behind? November is the time for Taste the Season, a holiday inspired wine and food tasting event held annually at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Since the time of its inception in the early 2000s, this event hosted by the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake has become a big draw for wine lovers who come to enjoy the season’s bounty.
26 wineries are participating in the popular event this year with some award-winning wines from the Niagara-on-the-Lake area. From November 7 to 30, 2014, you can experience the aromas and flavours of a wide variety of wines paired with food that will heighten the taste of the wine. Each of the wineries will pair different combinations of food and wine and you can taste all during the event that is held every weekend for a month. Dates for this year’s event are:
- Weekend 1: November 7-9
- Weekend 2: November 14-16
- Weekend 3: November 21-23
- Weekend 4: November 28-30
Hotels have also tied up with Magnificent Tours to enable visitors to enjoy the holiday-inspired wine and culinary tasting tour at 6 of the area’s finest wineries. The tour’s tasting pass is the passport to heady wine and delicious food. A luxury coach will transport guests to the wineries and since the driving is taken care of, you can tour and taste responsibly. A visit to Niagara Wine Country is made more enjoyable with the help of expert tour guides. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the day. The duration of the tour is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Along with pick-up and drop services, the itinerary includes the following wineries and pairings:
