On Canada Day CHCH Morning Live visited Marriott on the Falls, filming a number of live segments for their popular morning show.
On-site reporter Jason Portuondo interviewed representatives from a number of the best attractions available in the Niagara Region.
Those interviewed included:
Grand Niagara Golf Club
The first interview of the day featured Bob Culig, head golf professional at Grand Niagara Golf Club. When asked about the cold winter in the region, Bob happily reported that the course was in great condition due to designers Rees Jones usage of cool-season bentgrass, a cold-season grass that is protected from the elements.
Also discussed in the interview; the courses ability to cater to golfers of all skill levels due to the four tee distances, ranging from 5737 to 7425 yards
Hornblower Niagara Cruises
This interview featured Mory Dimaurizio, General Manager at Hornblower Niagara Cruises, and a replica model of a Hornblower ship. Mory discusses Hornblower’s entrance into the Niagara market, the new boats capabilities and comfort. He also talked about the different type of cruises available, from morning to afternoon, all the way up to night time Falls Illumination and Fireworks cruises.
Fallsview Indoor Waterpark
Next up was an interview with Ori Ovics, the General Manager of the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. Ori discussed Niagara’s top indoor waterpark, its overall size and the 16 amazing water slides inside of the attraction. Ori also touched upon the Waterparks outdoor tanning decks and pool with basketball hoops, as well as various Fallsview Boulevard attractions, including the Hershey Store.
Niagara Grape and Wine Festival
The Niagara Grape and Wine Festival, celebrating its 63rd year, highlights the local wine community, and is a multi-week festival featuring one of Canada’s largest parades, as well as numerous wine tasting events and a series of concerts.
Niagara Parks Historical Re-enactments
The final interview of the day featured Niagara Parks representative Janice Thompson and a re-enactment actor. They discussed the parks rich history, numerous activities and frequent historical re-enactments that take place in the region.
