Niagara Falls is home to one of the nations premier Canada Day celebrations, a day filled with a number of festivities throughout the city. Here is a list of the best free events scheduled for July 1st, 2014.
Downtown Canada Day Parade
11am – 12:20pm
4848 Victoria Ave
This year’s Downtown Parade has been extended from its previous one hour running time to one hour and twenty minutes. Participants from around the Niagara Region converge on Victoria Avenue, with a number of bands, presenters and floats taking place in the festivities.
11am – 4pm
Adjacent to the parade route is a daylong Family event in Rosberg and Downtown Park. On hand will be sing-a-longs, children entertainers, and a large inflatable play area.
11:00am – 5pm
4342 Queen Street
The 23rd Annual Canada Day Car Show takes place from 11am to 5pm. The event features a number of classic and muscle cars from throughout the Niagara Region and even the United States. This is one of the headline events year in and year out. Admission is free.
12pm – 5pm
4680 Queen Street
Located just down the road from the Car Show is the 4th Annual WingFest. This year’s WingFest features 10 local vendors selling a variety of Chicken Wings. This event is held from noon until 5pm.
Fireworks and Coca-Cola Concert Series
8pm – 10:30pm
Queen Victoria Park
The day concludes back at Queen Victoria Park (near the Niagara Horeshoe Falls) with a Coca-Cola concert beginning at 8pm, and a super-sized Canada Day Fireworks display at 10pm.
