Niagara Falls Mayor - State of the City

Niagara Falls Mayor - State of the City

On March 26th 2012 the Mayor of Niagara Falls chose the Marriott on the Falls as the site to conduct his state of the city address.

Prosperity in Niagara Falls
He announced plans for growth, a reassurance that Casino Niagara will remain open, congratulated Niagara Parks and in turn Hornblower tours on the plans to improve the parkland and Falls Avenue area.

Major Events in Niagara Falls
There is also building excitement regarding the upcoming Nik Wallenda walk and 1812 bicentennial. These are the kind of events that mark a historical milestone in Niagara Falls, proof positive that anything is possible. It is estimated that 400 Million people will view the Nik Wallenda walk live or in person. (Some on the Niagara Falls Web Cam)

These figures are based on how well covered the Niagara Falls New Years eve events are - one of Canada's best New Years Eve celebrations and Mayor Diodati claims 2012-2013 will be even bigger.

Go Transit to Niagara Falls
Go Transit will be the big push and Mayor Diodati sees this as a realistic goal by 2015. It opens a permanent and affordable connection between Toronto and Niagara Falls.

Held in the Oakes Ballroom at the Marriott on the Falls it marks one of the first major public events to be held at the hotel since the renovation of the front lobby was completed. While there are still more updates and upgrades on the way it was good to see the locals in Niagara Falls at this important stage of development.
