While Niagara Falls has plenty of attractions and activities to keep you busy and entertained, it also has places where you can just chill out and watch the world go by. The Kingsbridge Park is one such place that also has various facilities to keep you engaged in the midst of nature.
A beautiful, lush green area just a few minutes south of the Niagara Falls on the Niagara Parkway, Kingsbridge Park is a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate. Located near the village of Chippawa, the park is situated upon a picturesque waterfront location with views of the Niagara River and Welland River. The park was originally the site of Fort Chippawa/Welland built by the British in 1791.
Kingsbridge Park; Hidden Gem
The park, which features several tall trees, picnic pavilions, walking and biking trails , comes alive especially in the summer months. Picnickers can head to the open air picnic tables or the picnic pavilion that can seat up to 320 people. Adults can relax and take in sights and sounds of the area, while children can have a great time at the splash pad or make use of the playground facilities. Older kids and teens can use the vast open space to play their favourite sport–football, volleyball, etc., or play catch and have fun throwing frisbees. For those interested in exploring the area, hiking and biking trails here have much to offer, in fact you can access the Niagara River Recreation Trail from the park. The park is partially accessible by wheelchair, and washroom facilities as well.
